1 Week Old

I can't believe how easy Jake has been! He has been a great baby so far and already fits in perfectly with our family. Luke and Connor love him so much and Connor is always concerned when he starts to cry and wants mommy to take care of him. One of my favorite things so far is watching Connor and Luke go up to him randomly throughout the day and either gently rub his head of give him a big kiss on the forehead. It just melts my heart every time and is something I will cherish always!

No Training Wheels

Luke told me that he wanted his training wheels taken off in the morning and I told him once they come off they stay off for ever. He was ready and learned quickly. He can now ride his bike independently. Of course there are some scrapes and bruises that have come along the way and will continue to come because now he is talking about riding faster and over big bumps so he can "hop". We are proud of our little man!

Jake William Sorensen

We are excited to announce the arrival of our third son Jake William Sorensen! He was born on Monday night at 7:44p.m weighing in at 7.6 lbs and 19 inches. Labor was difficult, I don't think I will go natural with Pit again, but the end result was worth it.
Our family will also be moving to South Carolina by the end of December. Dan was accepted into school there and we are excited about the new adventures we will experience there. Putting our house on the market with a newborn isn't the most fun but is doable.

Happy Birthday Dan!

Dan doesn't get too excited about celebrating his birthday so this year I thought I would get excited about celebrating it. I gave him little gifts with notes throughout the week that I had hidden so he never knew when they were coming. The theme for this idea was a few of my favorite things. Then on his birthday we went out to eat at one of his favorite places, hit a bucket of balls, and had his favorite pie, coconut cream, in the back of our van over looking the valley with some of his favorite music playing. It was so enjoyable to just spend that time together and talk without any interruptions. I hope he felt that I think he is the greatest and one of my favorite things. Love you sweetie!

Happy Halloween

Halloween was pretty laid back this year. It was cold so Dan and I wanted to stay home but of corse Luke wanted to go out and get candy. It didn't take long for Connor to figure out how this worked and was trying to eat the candy before we could get it into his basket. Thankfully we were able to get some food in them before heading out. Grandpa and Grandma Sorensen and Uncle Darren came over for a visit and Luke and Connor had too much fun showing off their costumes. Connor loved his Woody outfit and didn't like it when I took his hat off when it was time for bed. Halloween is so much more fun with kids and I love the traditions we have started as a family. Luke sure loves my yummy mummy pizza!

Cornbelly's

Last year we went to cornbelly's and had so much fun we thought we would give it another go. Again we had a blast! We had the chance to go with Erica and her family as well as with Ruby Dawn (my cousin) and her family. They were moving back to Oregon and it was a good bye get together. Luke loved her boys and they are going to be missed! Luke and Connor had so much fun and I swear every time we turned the corner we found more fun stuff to play with. Connor loved the big pillow jump and Luke's favorite was the big slides and the race cars. It was getting late but Luke was definitely not ready to go so my amazing mom offered to keep Luke so that he could keep playing. We took her up on the offer and she dropped an exhausted Luke off late that night. He had a blast playing in the corn pit and I am still finding kernels in my dryer and in his pockets. Luke was so excited when we took him to the pumpkin patch thinking we were going back to cornbelly's but when he couldn't find the big slide he was sorely disappointed. We had so much fun and are looking forward to next year!

Time to Get Back to Business

So I am sorry to say but I haven't posted anything for a whole year! I guess I won't even try to catch up on what has been missed I will just start fresh. Here are some very cute family pictures my sisters friend Emily Loveland took. Here are just a few. . .

Dan and Lukes birthdays are in November and we always have a great time celebrating the other five family members birthdays too! This year Dan had a great birthday his parents took him out to lunch at one of his favorites, Zupas. Then on his birthday we had some friends over for dinner and went bowling it was a lot of fun but I think it is more for me than it is for him. He would have been happy with a big hug! One of our favorite traditions with their birhtdays is to go to Cold Stones and get their free birhtday ice cream. Luke is always so excited and picks out the best combinations, this year was cotton candy ice cream with gummy bears and sprinkles! Then it was Lukes 3rd birthday. We had a Big Football Party at Grandpa and Grandma Jones's where we had delicious food and watched a great BYU football game. Luke was spoiled and had fun with all of his cousins. Mom and Dad were able to give him a great surprise his Buzz Light Year. He loves to fly him around the house saying to infinity and beyond! I love you both, Happy Birthday!

Halloween

Halloween was super busy this year with lots of fun activities. Dan and I were in charge of our ward Trunk-or-Treat/Chili Cook-Off and we had around 350 people show up. My parents were there to help watch the kids and my mom was able to take Luke out for the trunk or treat. He came running in the gym when he was done to show my all his candy. With a big grin on his face he proceeded to tell me "I just say trick or treat and they just put candy in there!" It was totally crazy but lots of fun. Then on Halloween we were able to go to my nephew Tylers championship football game. It was so fun to watch him play this year with my brother Clark as his coach. It was a beautiful day and Tylers team won! Afterwards we headed over to my parents house to watch more football and enjoy some yummy food and lots of noise. Luke and Benson had a blast going trick or treating and every time Luke sees his Halloween basket is asks "Mom can we go trick or treating when it is dark? Do you think that is a good idea?" Connor was a trooper and didn't complain once about his costume or being too cold. As a side note so everyone know; yes, i am in red and white but NO I am not a Utah player!!

Connor's Blessing

Connor received his baby blessing the first Sunday of September. A family gathering was then held at our home and fortunately it was warm weather. The boys somehow managed to play some football as well. The breakfast casserole and fresh fruit didn't last long. From such an early age it has been extremely apparent that Connor and Luke have different personalities. Connor is much more laid back and can be comforted more easily than Luke. Boys will be boys, however. Now Laura complains that there are three loud, dirty, stinky boys in the house.

Utah State Fair

We decided one day that it would be fun to go to the Utah State Fair. Little did we know that we need to take out a second loan in order to afford to go on any of the rides. Luckily there was some fun free stuff to do and Luke really enjoyed watching the Shark Show. Luke was lucky enough to pick one ride to go on and he chose to ride the green helicopter. That didn't come as a huge surprise to us. He loves green and there is nothing better then flying "way, way high in the sky on my green helicopter!" It was a fun day and the big slide was a blast "Dad lets go again and again!" Connor was a trooper and he enjoyed watching all the bright lights around us. It was fun but next time we will go better prepared!

So here are some cute pictures of my family. I can't believe it has been a month since he was born. I love having him in our family and it is such a joy to see him and Luke interact. One of my favorite things is when I find cars, books, and motorcycles surrounding Connor. I sure hope Luke will share this well once Connor is on the move. Thankfully I have a while until that will happen!

Connor Jones Sorensen

He is here!! Connor was born on July 15 at 8:27 a.m. He weighed 7 pounds and was 20 inches long. It is wonderful to have him here He is such a good baby and is always so content. His brother absolutely loves him and they are so cute together. Luke is always the first to tell me that Connor is hungry and that I better sit down to feed him. It is more fun then I thought it would be having two boys and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Sorry these pictures aren't the best hopefully I will get more on soon!! (:

BABY TIME

For those of you who haven't heard I am going in to have our baby tomorrow. I won't be able to update for a while but I will try to spread the word quickly so you will all know what we had!!! Wish me luck!

Easter

Easter was pretty busy this year. Dan and I were in charge of an Easter egg hunt for our ward. We served breakfast and then went over to a park across the street where Dan had hidden all the eggs and had a fun little hunt. Luke had a blast and once he realized there was candy inside the eggs there was no stopping him. On Sunday we had dinner with the Sorensens. The Easter bunny had hidden more eggs there. Lets just say that Luke needs a sibling to compete with because this hunt was too easy. It was a fun Easter and I was grateful I could still fit in the dress I had bought it was a little tricky!

New Update

So if you are all wondering where Laura went I am still here life has just changed a little. First, of all Dan finishes school in about two months and I am really looking forward to having a husband that doesn't always have to work on Saturday!! Second, I am pregnant! We went in for our 19 week ultrasound on Wednesday and everything about the baby looks nice and healthy. The best part though is we didn't find out what we are having. If you ask Luke if it is a baby brother or sister most of the time he says "baby sister." This pregnancy has been wonderful compared to the rest but there sure is a difference between you first and third. I am definitely more LAZY!! Dan has been great and Luke is wonderful he would hold my hair back and rub my back while I would throw up and then give me a kiss and say "momma sick." Then I would remember it was all worth it. I hope that explains why I have been missing for the last three months!

Happy Birthday!

So Luke turned two this week and I can't believe how quickly time flies. He is so grown up and it makes me sad yet I really enjoy watching him learn and play He is capable of making me laugh everyday by something he says or does. We had a blast at his party and it was a little crazy at times but that was expected. He picked jungle animals for his party so I decided to follow in my sisters footsteps and attempt a monkey cake.

Luke was spoiled by all his cousins, Aunts, Uncles, Grandmas and Grandpas. He sure is loved by many!

I would have to say the biggest hit of the night was his remote control jeep. It hasn't left his side since it was opened. I guess Mom and Dad know best.
